This is an exciting project set up by Waveney and Blyth Arts and Touching The Tide. The aim was to bring a group of artists together to explore the concept of Doggerland. But first we had to learn about Doggerland.
Doggerland is that stretch of land between us and the rest of Europe. Six thousand years ago Doggerland was a plain and Britain was the upland. Doggerland was the original paradise.
The challenge for me was that the artists were going to present their work and thinking processes at a one day event. This meant that a film simply showing the work in progress was not going to be satisfying or indeed appropriate. So I had to devise a way of combining what was written in the land with the work of the artists.
