The Doggerland project a Waveney and Blyth Arts inspired idea to bring artists together to interpret the concept of the long lost world of Doggerland.
I found this to be a completely immersive project. I read everything I could about Doggerland, scoured the net, watched documentaries about Doggerland and spent a lot of time tracking down modern approximations of the Doggerland landscape. It became a frequent refrain "Well would Doggerland have looked like this?" How could I not only get my head around something that happened over 6,000 years ago but also make something that would engage the audience? After taking advice about locations I went to Westwood Marshes and spent the day trying to film it. For me often the story follows the pictures. A back story to this film is the refugee crisis which was just beginning to break across the media. So when I arrived in Westwood Marshes this was at the back of my mind……...
